This past Sunday was Justin's 30th birthday! It really is a birthday weekend! Friday we went to Delicious Thai Kitchen, our favorite Thai place in town. Justin got Pad Thai and I got Tom Kha. Deeeelicious! We then went to The Martian, which was fun. It's like Castaway in space!
Saturday we were lazy, and it was great. Hoosiers narrowly lost to the Buckeyes and we ordered some pizza and watched Mad Max. I'm not really sure I was a fan, in terms of knowing any of the previous movies, but it was still fun to watch something new and eat dough and cheese, haha!
We mostly spent Sunday cleaning. The pigs got a fresh new cage which always makes them happy. We cleaned everything and Justin (being Justin) made his own cake! :) Which was deeeeeeelicious. Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. He also made homemade pistachio ice-cream and homemade Indian Ice-cream (almond and cardamommmmm!). Around 6pm his friends came over and we had cake and ice-cream and everyone got to visit the guinea pigs, who were total (excuse the expression) hams. They showed off to everyone! Usually when they get stressed they just stay in their hiding places. But Harvey was standing up on his back legs and cleaning his little face all cute-like, Biscotti was running laps around his cage, and Xabi climbed to the top of his barn, jumped off, ran around to the back and climbed back up. Show offs!
After several people left we played Scotland Yard, which is a fun detective/mastermind game that is great for a party. It was fun to get to visit.
Birthdays are the best!
Oh, and also, I got Justin the Back to the Future trilogy, since it is October 2015, afterall. ;)

1 Year
It is my 1 year wedding anniversary! Wow, time goes by fast. A lot has happened since this time last year. There has been a lot of change that I can't say was fun, but I wouldn't change anything. It has been a wonderful growing experience and we are a stronger team for it! And don't get me wrong, we have had wonderful times, too!
I love you, Justin!

Justin
I don't like romantic, mushy-gushy, proclamations of love on facebook. So, I'm just going to say it here, because it is what I'm thinking; I have the cutest husband, ever. He is perfect for me. We are a good team, and we can get through anything together. He is smart, clever, funny, sensitive, thoughtful, patient, level-headed, supportive, and more than I could have ever dreamed of or hoped for in a life partner.

Birthday
Justin's birthday happens to be on Friday this year. And he just so happens to not have any classes on Fridays. Until recently, I didn't have a job, and so was looking forward to spending the whole day with him.
I just recently got a job and my work schedule is MWF. I will work Friday from 7am to 3:30pm. =(
It could be worse, but it still bums me out.

Thank You
I want to thank the following people (and Kitty):
Thank you to Kitty for being the most tolerant, loyal, protective kitty ever and for most likely making me love cats like I do. I always thought of Kitty as my guardian angel (which is super cheesy, but I don't care). He is a HUGE part of my childhood. He had the cutest short black nose and funny white markings and freckles in his eyes, and he would sleep at the foot of my bed almost every night. I do not remember life without kitty until four years ago. My sweet Kitty lived to be 18, and was the best cat in the world to me.
Thank you to my sister, Erin, who is someone I can always rely on to listen to me when I call her just to rant about stupid work or stupid drivers or stupid life. And to always be patient and offer advice and a clear, but understanding and generous perspective. Also for completely understanding my mooch-rage moments and offering the perfect therapy for such moments: 7-11 donut and coffee and an open mind. Thanks for understanding my reluctance to grow up and encouraging me to grow up in different ways. Allowing me to hold on to my child-like behaviors, but also encouraging me to emotionally grow to be more patient with people, like you are with me.
Thank you to my cousin, Taylor, who completely understands my faults and embraces them. Who doesn't agree with me on political/religious/life views but still wants to have a civil and usually funny conversation anyway and still respects my decisions and points of view regardless. Thank you, Taylor, for being encouraging about my need for creative control and of course for her exquisite and informed fashion expertise. Also, for being spontaneous and going on food-hunting treks, which usually end with mixed results. (cranberries in popcorn don't really work, but they aren't bad if you pour tongue-burning kosher salt all over it)
Thank you to my friend, Kiki, who like Kitty, has been in my life since before I remember. Thanks for not only being my friend when we were little and all we cared about was what the next adventure or game was, but also now when life has become more complicated, more hectic and more demanding. I can't tell you how much it means to know that I have a friend who completely understands how I operate under stress and who understands that just watching a movie and working on a puzzle is my idea of a good night. (And if you're reading this, thanks for your understanding texts a couple of nights ago, Chelsea, they meant a lot.) Also, thank you for introducing me to Doctor Who (WAY before the DW craze) and Flight of the Conchords and going to movies with me and putting up with my anxious, and most likely obnoxious, rush to not miss the previews.
There are two very obvious people missing from this list: My mom and my Justin. But it is quite late (I'm not doing so great with that whole get-to-bed-on-time goal) and I want to do them justice. And while it might seem like a short little paragraph, these do take emotional energy, and after today, I'm a bit drained.

Merry Christmas to everyone! I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas!
This year I received some awesome gifts (although not all will be in this post, because some are at home and some are at the apartment) buuuuut, here are some that I have with me right now...
An awesome how-to book on vintage tea parties. It also has a ton of really yummy looking recipes! Super looking forward to this.
The Mighty Boosh complete series!!! I am really excited about this. I am hoping Justin doesn't regret this purchase, haha!
And then the biggest gift of all! Justin proposed to me!!! (I know this isn't news to anyone reading this blog, because I told you first (Erin, Chelsea, Mom and Justin) buuuuut, I still was excited to post pictures. (from my new camera!!)

Happy
First I did my focus group, had an epiphany that what I'm doing is exactly the kind of work I want to be doing, then I went to my honey's place and he surprised me with flowers, homemade pad thai and brownies, and theeeeen Obama won! Then today I slept in, and now class and work went by super fast! Ahhh, what a lovely couple of days I've had!
Edit: And now today, Justin pre-ordered midnight tickets to see The Hobbit! Also, I'm about to eat left over Extreme Veggie pizza from the pie and a Ghirardelli double chocolate brownie! MMMM! :)

August
Two more weeks of summer classes, one week of vacation, and then 4 months of fall classes and then I graduate! It doesn't seem like I should be allowed to graduate, honestly! I think everything is lining up pretty well in terms of the bigger picture. Feeling very optimistic!
In other news, I have started to go to a strength training class, and plan to take a cycling class in the fall. That combined with a schedule I have put together for exercise will hopefully pave the way to my ambition of running a half-marathon. :)
And honestly, in a way, I would like to run a half-marathon, but more than that I want to be healthy and fit and confident!

Fantastic Thanksgiving Break!
On Wednesday I left work early and me and Justin went to the brand new Natural History Museum in SLC. It was AWESOME! I highly recommend it. It is extremely well done. Very small (and big) details with the architecture tie everything together. It was impressive and a lot of fun to explore. Then we went to Biaggi's at the Gateway, which I have never been to, and I had a delicious butternut squash ravioli. Justin had a lobster noodle dish with black noodles (Which we later found out was cuddle fish ink. It was kind of unexpected to me, haha). THEN, (and Chelsea, I have to thank you for this) we went to Gourmandise for dessert, where I got a little tinsy bit carried away! I should always remember to just get those french macarroons, they end up being my favorite anyway.
Thursday was Thanksgiving! We first went to Justin's family's Thanksgiving dinner, which was conveniently just down the road and had the bonus of Jaymee's delish brownies, then went to our Thanksgiving dinner, which was also very yummy. (And also conveniently about 3 hours later, otherwise I would have been sick). This year my mom made Success Cake, a Norweigian cake we discovered in Norway this past spring, and really love. Then I worked on my puzzle and later went to Justin's house and played Lego Star Wars on the Wii! It made me really want to watch the movies. (Another thing I have to thank Chelsea for. I have a very distinct memory of sitting on your bed and watching Star Wars on your little TV.)
Friday morning we went and watched The Muppets! It was hilarious, I really loved it. Possibly more than Puss in Boots, I have to say. Then I tried to register my car, but was stupid and forgot my photo I.D because I didn't think we were going to register it after the movie. (And since my mom bought the tickets online, I didn't think I needed my purse. I guess I should get in the habit of always taking my purse everywhere, but, meh.) Then Friday night I went rock climbing with Erin! (see previous post)
Saturday I slept in and was a lazy bum. I then didn't do much else, except in the afternoon I went to the Owens to watch Arsenic & Old Lace, a Cary Grant classic! :)
And now it is Sunday night, and you may have noticed that homework is not mentioned in any of the above days. Because I'm a genius and put everything off until last moment, even when I clearly have plenty of time. Oh well, I'll get by. I did get a little bit of homework done and played Minecraft, then decorated for Christmas at Justin's house. It makes me excited for Christmas and for the end of the semester. I want to do a lot during Christmas break!
Hopefully these next 2 weeks don't kill me.
