Spain update + Xx complaint
Got word today that it is unlikely that the school would hire me in the summer to teach because not enough kids attend summer school. Although when I think about it, I guess that doesn't mean that I wouldn't teach in the fall. So, technically, maybe I am still at the beginning. ALTHOUGH, it WOULD be pretty awesome to spend the summer here in Utah, but then go over to Spain in like Mid-late august and teach for the new year/take fall semester classes. But um, that might be my own agenda, and I think that main point for my sister is to help with the rugrats.
But still, although it would be nice to stay in Spain for the summer, if I don't really have much to do, in terms of a job, I definitly would go crazy. I think the teaching part was probably the highlight, honestly.
Anyway, in other news, I hate my Xx chromosome. My emotions have been pretty volatile this past week. AND, my plan to eat healthy sort of flew out the window as soon as I got cramps. dfkjasdlfjasdfasd;flwfalsdjfaoimabsdglha;ldj

Spanish Dilemma
Okay, SO, this is the situation.
My sister and brother in law are living in Spain. We are going to visit them. They have offered to let me stay for the summer and fall semester, taking classes online and teaching English at a school there. They are moving back to the U.S at the end of the year.
So, opportunity of a lifetime to spend more than half a year living in Spain, BUT, I have hesitations. I decided to make a pro/con list.
Pros:
-Never again (I don't think) will I have this opportunity.
-Free expense of living
-I can take classes online and my sister can tutor me (she is a math major)
-I will be practically living on a private beach
-I will be getting paid for teaching English, AND I don't need to know any Spanish. (which is good, I have mostly forgotten everything I ever learned.)
-I might pick up some Spanish.
-I will spend time with my nephews and newborn niece
Cons:
-I will spend time with my nephews and newborn niece
-Limited television. This is sort of an embarrassing con.
-I will probably be expected to go to church. This is a major con.
-I might get stir crazy
-I get home-sick really easily.
-I don't want to miss anything at home, good or bad. (birthdays, or unexpected deaths)
-I had plans for the summer at home, such as: vegetable garden, fixing up tree house, lots and lots of bike riding.
-I don't know anyone in Spain except family.
-I will be expected to help with children A LOT. Which might be a good lesson to learn, but I am not sure if I want to.
Gah.

I miss I miss I miss.
This Friday my grandparents are flying to Merida, Mexico to serve their (second) mission at the LDS temple. I have to admit I am not over thrilled for them. But that is because I am selfish. Also, it worries me that they will be gone for two more years. A lot can happen in two years. And when you are older, a few years can mean a lot. My grandparents are very young in spirit, though. And I think they will be alright.
Anyway, it got me thinking that I am sort of already missing them. And then I realized I miss a lot of things and people, in different ways. I wanted to reminisce a little.
I miss my overalls that I wore just about every single day in the fourth grade. (or was it fifth?)
I miss my black and white cats, Kitty and Moochy. I miss the healthy Kitty. Even when he was alive, I missed when he was healthy. And of course I always miss Mooch.
I miss my childhood.
I miss my neighbor's sandbox, and the hours upon hours spent in there.
I miss riding on the end of grocery carts.
I miss my grandparents. And sunday morning breakfast at their house.
I miss our old dog, Rascal.
I miss my guinea pig, Gus-gus.
I miss Scotland.
I miss my friend, Whitney. I miss when we were friends.
I miss my cousin, who is just in Provo, but I haven't seen her for like...two weeks.
I miss my sister, who I saw last weekend, but I don't care.
I miss my other cousin, Rachel, in Oregon.
I miss Oregon, as a matter of fact.
I miss being able to ride big-wheel bikes.
I miss all the shows that used to be on Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon and Disney.
I miss Disney World!
I miss my brother.
I miss when my dad was younger and didn't ache and hurt all the time.
I miss my neighbor's swing set.
I miss Plain City as a country-town, not a cul-de-sac town.
I miss beef jerky and rootbeer from Smith n' Edwards.
I miss being in shape. >_>
I miss the summer.
I miss my goat.
I miss riding my bike. Too cold.
I miss my friend, Maren, who I never see anymore.
I miss my horse, Freckles, who wasn't really my horse, but was still my favorite.
I miss stealing sugar cubes from the horse-renters horse trailer.
I miss thinking that we had tons and tons of property.
I miss ice-skating on our pond.
I miss rafting on our pond.
I miss playing under the old trees in plain city's park.
I miss my fourth grade teacher's classroom.
I miss AP english.
I miss my The Mighty Boosh, that never comes on anymore.
I miss when the Harry Potter books were new.
I miss DragonBall Z.
I miss my hammock.
I miss my San Diego Zoo ring, which I lost.
I miss playing the wagon-game with my neighbors.
I miss Santa.
I miss that Harry Potter game that was like Clue, only Harry Potter themed.
I miss watching the Jazz Game AT the Jazz game.
I miss having a hot breakfast every morning.
I miss german pancakes.
I miss Plain City elementary library.
I miss a crapload of things. Have I worn everyone out, yet?
I think I originally was just going to post about grocery carts and the huge tire in my neighbor's back yard that was sort of scary. And then I got a wee bit carried away.

Avatar?
Okay, so that movie Avatar keeps getting all these huge award nominations. But, um. It looks like crap. It looks like a lot of special effects with a cheesy, obnoxiously predictable, really gag-worthy lines all mixed up with not-very-subtle messages about the environment. (which I am all for messages for action to save/help the environment, but uh, how about you donate all the bajillion dollars you are making from the box office to some environmental causes? Just a suggestion.)
Anyway, MAYBE I am wrong? Has anyone seen it to prove me wrong? It just seems like a lot of "wow" effect, but with a crappy plotline. Am I right?

Ugh
[rant]"They're" means "They are". "Their" is third person form for more than one person. They don't mean the same thing.
"You're" means "You are". "Your" is referring to you, particularly in a possessive form. As in "Your socks are red." Again, not the same.
One more annoyance: dot dot dots. They are called ellipses. They should be used SPARINGLY. NOT as a substitute for all grammar punctuation. It just makes sentences look dramatic and automatically obnoxious.
Example: One more annoyance...dot dot dots...they are called ellipses... they should be used SPARINGLY...not as a substitute for all grammar punctuation....it just makes sentences look dramatic....and automatically obnoxious...

Elementary, my dear Watson.
So, I am posting this somewhat late, but after a Robert Downey Jr. Youtube marathon, I decided it is about time I post about Sherlock Holmes, even though I saw it a couple of days after Christmas.
One word: AWESOME.
It was really good. I think something that I think is portrayed in the commercials and trailers for Sherlock Holmes, is that it is a funny/light movie. It is funny at times, but on the whole, the funny can be outweighed by the dark. There are intense scenes. But nothing too gory. It is PG-13, not R. Something that I really liked about it, is that it was the typical "Holmes is super smart, and Watson is comical relief/a bit dull". They made sure to make Watson a legitimate character.
Also, a bit of book trivia, which I didn't know. Watson is a war veteran from the anglo-afghan war in Afghanistan in 1842. A bit ironic, eh?

BBC is pure evil.
Damn you Russel T. Davies! You can't toy with my emotions like this!!! >='(
p.s: whoever casts semi-minor roles for Doctor Who should probably not cast major cast members from the other bbc shows I watch. It makes it very distracting when George the werewolf from Being Human is sitting at a bar with Captain Jack Harkness.
Also, can I just say that I was half-expecting Han Solo to be sitting at that same bar? Just saying.
-sigh- I can't live without David Tennant as the Doctor.
